Darren Bovis-Coulter is the Pastor at LWBC

The title of this series is called: Being Jesus, and this is loosely based around the FRUIT of the Spirit, note fruit is a singular term.

This week we consider goodness as part of the Fruit of the Spirit. Culturally this word has lost its meaning in our modern language and has been replaced by words like tolerance – we need to relearn the morality of true goodness.

This week we consider the redemptive work of kindness which is interwoven with patience that we looked at last week as part of the Fruit of the Spirit. God’s patience and kindness draws us to put our trust in Him alone as our Saviour, as we repent, turn from going our own way and going His way, we are able to live out Gods kindness towards other.

The Motto Verse for 2021 was introduced to us this week by our Pastor Darren Bovis-Coulter. Along with his son Art, they changed to wording on the church walls ready for the first service of 2021, which we were blessed to be able to do in the middle of the COVID pandemic.

This is one of four messages being brought to us throughout January, with 3 other folk from the church brings their reflections over the next 3 weeks.

The motto verse for 2021 is Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Find out why this version with the word ‘submit‘ was our chosen bible translation for such a time as this.
